Hey lovelies! Welcome back! Often times when I’m out, I get compliments about my makeup! We all know that is like the best feeling ever! Lately, I’ve been following the same routine and using the same products to achieve my everyday flawless base! I am dedicating this post specifically for my base makeup because I absolutely suck at eyes, sigh L. Keep reading to figure out my everyday routine!
First and foremost, the absolute most important step in making sure that your makeup is as flawless as possible, is ensuring that you are following the proper skin care routine! Makeup can only cover up so much. Have you ever tried to apply foundation on top of a breakout? Yeah, I know, not the best look ever. I have another post dedicated to my favorite skincare products. Be sure to check it out if you also have combination/ sensitive skin!
My absolute favorite primer out right now is actually an underrated one. It is the ‘Marc Jacobs Undercover Blurring Coconut Face Primer’. It helps to even out texture while adding a blurring effect. I’ve noticed that my makeup is able to grip to this primer, without slipping around! Not to mention it smells amazing, not heavily scented but still a slight hint of coconut (which is like my go-to fragrance note alongside vanilla). You can find this primer at Sephora for $39.00 or try the travel size for only $19.00
I probably am not the only person who has tried over 50 foundations. But lately I have been obsessed with the ‘Milani Conceal and Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation‘. Not only is this foundation super affordable —- can be found at pretty much every drug store for under $10.00—–but the coverage is amazing! I suffer for hormonal hyper-pigmentation, now combine that with sensitive skin. So often times I have dark marks around my mouth and on the outside of my cheeks. One layer of this foundation completely covers my marks without looking too matte! I like pairing this with the makeup revolution hydrating concealer as a color corrector. A little goes a long way with this foundation, and it can also double as a concealer!
I mentioned above that I like the makeup revolution hydrating concealer as a color corrector, but I do wish that it were a bit more hydrating. It dries down a bit matte so I only use it under my foundation. However, I love the ‘Born This Way Multi Use Sculpting Concealer’. When I tell you that this concealer lasts a long time, I literally mean it! I’ve only bought this concealer at the beginning of December and am nowhere near finished. It been 2 months plus i only bought the travel size for $13.00 from Sephora. Although this concealer doesn’t dry down fast, it does blend seamlessly and is hydrating under the eye!
Currently, I have two favorite setting powders. I like to layer them on top of each other, obviously with light layers- don’t want to be too cakey or mattified. First, I take the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder along with the puff. I use this to set where my concealer is and where I contour (jawline and forehead). Next I take the Fenty Beauty Pro’ Filter Setting Powder in the shade honey and apply it only where I applied my concealer. Now this powder is thicker than the Laura Mercier, so I make sure to use a brush to apply this powder instead of the puff. Both powders can be found at Sephora and are also available in travel sizes if you want to test them out before committing to the full size!
I am not going to lie, I honestly use any setting spray. I don’t have a favorite currently, but have been using the Morphe Continuous Setting Mist. When it comes to bronzer, I also don’t have a favorite. 9/10, I use eyeshadow to bronze my face… Please don’t come for me lol. But I do recommend trying the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer, or the elf bronzer if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative. If you’re really cheap, just use eyeshadow like I do ha-ha.
All skintypes are different and these products are what works for me! If you also have combination and/or sensitive skin, comment your favorite products below and I’ll be sure to try them out!!
As Always, Stay Pretty
