About a week ago, I was in Walmart and of course had to stop by the beauty section to see what was new. I immediately noticed the Colour Riche Original Satin Lipsticks from L’Oréal and thought they resembled the YSL lipsticks I have been wanting so figured I should grab a few to review. Although the line isn’t new, the packaging is changing. I personally prefer the older packaging so wanted to pick up as many as possible before that particular version is no longer available.
I’ll start with the shades that I picked out. Disclaimer: please note that shades may appear different in person than what you see on the screen! If possible, try going into Ulta and seeing if they have testers to swatch! Walmart had a display with plastic versions so that you can see the shade you’re picking out
800 || Fairest Nude : I’d describe this shade as a soft pink with brownish-purple undertones. This is the lightest nude I picked up so I’ve been using it to create an ombre effect (bright in the middle and darker as you move outward)
236 || Organza: I will say that this shade is a lot more sheer in person. It’s one of the only few shades that has shimmer. I’d describe this shade as purple-pink with blue and silver shimmer.
107 || Seine Sunset: I’d describe this as a medium brownish-pink with slight purple undertones. This is one of my favorite shades for my skin-tone!
835 || Bronze Coin : This shade also has some shimmer so it is a bit more sheer than the others. I’d describe this shade as a muted purple with brown undertones. This is probably one of the only shade I’m questionable about because it looks a bit silver when applied.
849 || Nature’s Blush : I absolutely love this shade! It’s a Bronwish Pink with Purple Undertones. It looks so different than the swatch pictured below, it’s definitely not that purple and looks more like Seine Sunset
850 || Brazil Nut : Here’s my 3rd favorite shade and the last shade I’ll be reviewing. If you’re looking for a true red-brown nude, this is your go-to! It’s a true nude on me and looks so good with a darker brown liner! Again, not sure why the swatch looks purple, but it’s definitely not!
Overall Opinion: I love the way this lipstick glides on. It’s very moisturizing and is like a step down from a gloss. It isn’t matte so if that’s what you’re looking for, then try the Colour Riche Matte Collection. I’m a gloss girl so I love this formula because you don’t have to top it off with a gloss (even though I still do). Although it isn’t matte, it does have staying power and lasts for a few hours. I can’t say for sure how long because I wear a mask when out, but I’m sure if I didn’t have to wear a mask, it would last a lot longer.
